Active Data Calendar's Dynamic Event Feeds Drive Fresh Content to the City of Bethlehem Tourism Calendar from Community Organizations

The calendar’s ‘create once, publish everywhere’ functionality enables clients to get maximum distribution of event information without entering the same data multiple times

Bethlehem, PA – September 29, 2011Active Data Exchange announced the use of its comprehensive event marketing calendar for the City of Bethlehem’s visitor site, www.bethlehempa.org, which is managed jointly by the Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce and the City of Bethlehem.

Solving the ‘empty content problem’ is one of the greatest features of the calendar. The calendar auto populates with events from other Active Data Calendar clients such as Lehigh University, Northampton Community College, Pennsylvania Youth Theater, First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem, and ArtsQuest.  The calendar’s ‘create once, publish everywhere’ functionality enables clients to get maximum distribution of event information without entering the same data multiple times.

In addition, the calendar also provides the ability for the general public to submit events subject to the City’s approval. “Because of the importance of the calendar, it had to be accessed by different groups throughout Bethlehem, and we wanted to have everyone use it to add or schedule events” said Lynn Logue, Vice President of Bethlehem Initiatives for the Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce.

“Active Data Exchange’s product suite was on target with what we were looking for and they were already two steps ahead of where we wanted to go.” said Kathy Vossough, Deputy Director, Economic Development for the City of Bethlehem. “During our entire relationship, they have proved my confidence in them was well placed.”

“Our calendar is meant to make it easy for our clients to set up data feeds in and out of a master calendar so there is a unified view of information driven by date.” said Susan Yee, CEO of Active Data Exchange. “Active Data Calendar is doing the job we designed it to do with the aggregation of event feeds from disparate sources.” The use of the calendar has also expanded to the City’s municipal events to communicate city council meetings, recreation and park events, and other key dates important to its residents and visitors.
